TikTok poll template: add the Poll sticker to a post or the Voting Sticker to an ad
The nearest thing to a TikTok poll template is the Voting Sticker, which TikTok's ads documentation describes as a voting topic plus two options added to a video ad. For an ordinary post, TikTok's help page for polls says to choose the Poll sticker while making the post. The ad route needs an advertiser account in TikTok Ads Manager, and ads do not run until TikTok approves the account.

Put a poll on your TikTok: the post route and the ad route
TikTok documents two ways to put a poll on a video, and they live in different places. The first is a post: TikTok's help page for polls starts from Making a post and says to choose the Poll sticker. The second is a video ad: TikTok's ads documentation describes the Voting Sticker, an Interactive Add-on that adds a voting topic and two options to a video ad.
Which route fits depends on what you are making. A creator posting from the app takes the first. An advertiser running a video ad in TikTok Ads Manager takes the second, and the second comes with numbered steps and character limits in TikTok's documentation, so most of this page follows it.
A TikTok poll template, in practice, is the fixed form of the ad add-on: a title, Option A and Option B, and a look you set with color, display angle, placement and size.
Add a poll to a TikTok post with the Poll sticker
TikTok's help page for polls says creators can add a poll when making a post by choosing the Poll sticker. The help page puts this under Making a post, so the starting point is the app itself: you create the post first, then add the sticker to it.
The same help page has a section on camera tools, which TikTok lists among the ways to make poll posts. Numeric limits appear in TikTok's ad documentation for the Voting Sticker instead: a title of up to 65 English characters and two options of up to 16 each.
One poll sticker, two names: Poll in a post, Voting Sticker in an ad
TikTok uses two names for one idea, one per route. In a post, the help page for polls calls it the Poll sticker. In a video ad, TikTok's ads documentation calls it the Voting Sticker Interactive Add-on and says it lets you add a voting topic and two options to your video ad.
The ad version sits inside the ad builder. You reach it under Interactive Add-ons by clicking Create, selecting Sticker, selecting Voting Sticker and clicking Confirm.
Names aside, the two are documented at different depth. The ad version comes with a title, Option A and Option B text, and a color, display angle, placement and size; the post version is documented in the help page as the Poll sticker chosen while making a post.
Create a TikTok Ads Manager account before any poll ad
The Voting Sticker workflow is written for self-serve customers, according to TikTok's Ads Manager help: a customer who is not self-serve is told to contact the client service team or account manager. The documented route starts with an advertiser account in TikTok Ads Manager.
Setting up the account asks for business information, billing and payment information, and a payment method. TikTok's help says your country's requirements decide the exact information needed, and it lists billing address and tax information as examples.
Approval comes before delivery. TikTok says you can create a new ad campaign in Ads Manager, but your ads won't run until your account is approved, so a finished poll ad waits on that approval.
What goes in the Voting Sticker: a title, two options and the look
The Voting Sticker Editor asks for three things. First comes the title, which is the voting topic itself. Then Option A and Option B text. Then the appearance: color, display angle, placement and size. Click Confirm to create the Voting Sticker. With two options there is no third button for the undecided.
TikTok's ads documentation caps the text. The title allows up to 65 English characters, or 32 Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters, and each of the two options allows up to 16 English characters, or 8 Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters. Sixteen characters is short. A pair like Sweet and Salty fits with room to spare; a full clause does not.
Those fields and caps are what a TikTok poll template amounts to for this add-on.
Identity and ad format: Spark, Non-Spark and Single Video
Two settings come first. The Identity toggle decides the ad type: TikTok's ads documentation says to enable it to create a Spark Ad, or to turn it off to create a Non-Spark Ad, which it describes as a regular in-feed ad.
Then comes the format. Select Single Video as the ad format, and add the video, the ad text, the link and the CTA. The poll itself is added after these, under Interactive Add-ons.
Platform rules and fake votes: what a poll on TikTok does not settle
A two-option poll collects a choice; it does not decide who wins a contest or whether a result stands. The organiser's published rules settle that. TikTok's own approval step sits in a different place: it is the ad account that TikTok approves before ads run.
None of the steps above checks votes. They build the poll, set its text and look, and submit the ad. What an organiser can rely on is what the organiser can see and has published: the ad account, the two option texts and the rules of the contest.
| Field | What you enter | Limit TikTok states |

How to do it
-
Set up a TikTok Ads Manager advertiser account
Create the advertiser account first. The documented workflow is for self-serve customers, and setup asks for business information, billing and payment information and a payment method. TikTok says ads will not run until the account is approved.
-
Open Ads Manager and create a new campaign
Go to TikTok Ads Manager, create a new campaign for the poll ad, and select its Buying Type and Advertising Objective.
-
Set up the ad group and continue to ad creation
Set up your Ad Group, then continue to Ad Creation, where the ad itself is built.
-
Choose the identity and Single Video
Enable the Identity toggle to create a Spark Ad, or turn it off to create a Non-Spark Ad, which is a regular in-feed ad. Select Single Video as the ad format, then add the video, ad text, link and CTA.
-
Open Interactive Add-ons and select Voting Sticker
Under Interactive Add-ons, click Create. From the pop-up, select Sticker, then select Voting Sticker, and click Confirm.
-
Enter the title and both options
In the Voting Sticker Editor, input the title, then enter Option A and Option B text. The title allows up to 65 English characters and each option up to 16, so write a short topic and two short choices.
-
Set color, display angle, placement and size
Select the color, display angle, placement and size, then click Confirm to create the Voting Sticker.
-
Submit the ad and wait for approval
Submit the ad. If the advertiser account is not yet approved, the ad will not run until TikTok approves it.

A TikTok poll collects choices; it does not decide who wins a contest, and no setting can. TikTok approves the advertiser account before ads run, and the organiser's published rules decide whether a result stands. This page covers how the sticker is added and what its fields allow, and it cannot say how TikTok treats votes that look fake.
X prohibits coordinating with or compensating others to inflate engagement metrics, and it names Polls among the features covered. The Pet Industry Business Awards name the consequence in their own contest: a business may be investigated, lose votes or be disqualified on reasonable evidence of purchased votes. No seller can stop an organiser from doing that.
Slido says it is alerted when an event gets an unusually high number of votes in a very short time, and Crowdsignal says its built-in measures detect patterns of potentially abusive voting. Ordinary participation arrives spread across the voting window, from different people at different moments. Nothing on this site is a method for getting a vote past a check, and a vote that a tool blocks does not count.
Organiser rules differ: the RSPCA Pet of the Year Awards allow extra votes through donations on their official mechanism, while OpenTable Australia treats a vote cast in exchange for money or a reward as null and void. Both are contest rules, not statutes, and whether payment is lawful where you live is a question for a lawyer. Orders are refused for any contest whose rules ban paid votes, and for political ballots.
Votes ordered for a poll that never appear on its count are refunded after the poll closes. A refund never covers an organiser's decision: Localsearch may void all votes for a disqualified nominee, and Mentimeter says a user whose access it cancels under its Acceptable Use Policy is owed no refund or compensation. No result is promised.
